Empower Employs is in the process of developing two specialized programs designed to aid its participants living in the Memphis area. Those two programs are:
VOCATION VANS – providing reliable daily “curbside” transportation to/from work.
LOGISTICS INTERNSHIPS (Paid) – Forklift & CDL specialty training in a “learn while you earn” format.
VOCATION VANS
In cooperation with our community service partners, Empower Employs, has begun a service providing, those who qualify, daily transportation to work and back home each day. LOGISTICS INTERNSHIPS - Forklift & CDL Training "Learn while you Earn."
Coordinating with the Tennessee state government, Shelby County, and the City of Memphis, along with several local companies in the logistics industry, Empower Employs, has developed a specialized 1-year training and paid internship program that teaches multiple aspects of the logistics field - an industry that is foundational to the Memphis area. At the end of the one year course, the participant has learned how warehouses and shipping works, how to operate a forklift, and has earned their Tennessee commercial drivers license. [MORE INFO]
