As a Mentor at EmpowerEmploys the job is very rewarding when you see a single life, and the lives of their extended family, impacted in a positive way. Around here, there is a saying that goes, “A job is the best insurance against a bullet.” In today’s circumstances, it’s dangerous to be on the streets, especially if you have been involved in a criminal activity in the past. Having a job does multiple things for you – it keeps you off the dangerous streets where old “friends” tempt you, it earns you a living to support yourself and your family, and it also gives you a sense of self-respect and worth one likely never had.
Helping people secure “living wage” jobs who otherwise might have trouble, is one of the most rewarding careers I can imagine. I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else!
